He married Anna Flannery, daughter of Thomas Flannery and Maria (__?__), in 1906 in Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York. He died on 18 June 1940 in Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York, at age 60. He was buried in St. Mary's cemetery.

     Rose Graber was born on 25 September 1877 in Bottenwil, Aargau, Switzerland. She was the daughter of Samuel Graber and Anna Bucher. She married (1) William D. Kelly, son of Thomas Kelly and Mary J. (__?__), circa 1898 prob. In Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York. She married (2) Richard P. Kittson between 1910 and 1915 prob. In Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York. She died on 28 September 1921 in Troy, Rensselaer Co., New York, at age 44 post op, strangulated femoral hernia. She was buried in St. Mary's cemetery.

     Carl Warren Keller is the son of Hugo Keller and Elizabeth Urban. He married Patricia Amy Bankert, daughter of Norbert Francis Bankert Jr. and Catherine Jane Lange, on 25 April 1987 in St. Joseph - St. Patrick RC Church, Utica, New York.

     Sebastian F. Hamberger was born on 20 January 1840 in Landau, Bavaria.^2,3 He was the son of Bartholomew Hamberger and Gertrude Betzler. He married, at age 26, Mary Meaney, age 21, daughter of (__?__) Meaney and Mary Eva Meaney, and stepdaughter of Joseph Schreiber, on 20 January 1866 in St. Joseph's RC Church, Utica, New York.^2,4 He died on 18 May 1905 in Utica, Oneida Co., New York, at age 65 of pneumonia. He was buried in St. Joseph's cemetery (stone), Yorkville.

Sebastian came to America and Utica at the age of seven, with his parents in 1848. After serving in the Civil War, Sebastian worked at Pomeroy's Oil Cloth Factory for six years after which he worked as a painter for most of his career. Starting about 1885, Sebastian worked for a few years as a saloon keeper, possibly at St. James Hotel with some of his Hamberger cousins. He then returned to his trade as a painter and then as a grocer in his later years. In 1900, Sebastian owns his home at 43 Erie St.
Sebastian and Mary had eight children (1910 census), seven are known and survived both their parents. The eighth child is not found in the available census and probably died young.
On May 18, 1905, Sebastian died at the age of 65 of pneumonia at his home on Erie St. It was said that he was a man of cheerful and kindly disposition and ever ready to help the needy.
Sebastian Hamberger enlisted August 26, 1862, at Utica at the age of 21. On October 10, 1862, he was mustered in as a private in Co. A, 146'th Regiment of the NY Volunteers. He served three years and was mustered out with his company near Washington D. C. on July 25, 1865. As a member of the 146'th, Sebastian and his comrades took part in the campaigns at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Petersburg and others. On the evening of June 3, 1863, the 14'th participated in the defense of Little Round Top, scene of one of the bloodiest battles at Gettysburg. The numbers of casualties the 146'th suffered at these battles seem relatively light until the battle of the Wilderness. The Wilderness was the first major confrontation in the spring of 1864 as Grant moved his troops south to confront General Lee. In this battle which took place on May 5th and 6th, Sebastian's unit lost 312 men, including 52 killed.

     According to Joseph Schreibers will, probated in Oneida County, NY, on October 30. 1889. Joseph Schreiber leaves $500 to his "step" daughter, Mary Hamberger. St. Joseph's Church records list Mary's last name as Mene'. This could indicate either her mothers maiden name or a previous marriage.

     Mary Hamberger was born on 9 December 1868 in Utica, Oneida Co., New York.¹ She was the daughter of Sebastian F. Hamberger and Mary Meaney. She married Charles Finkbeiner, son of Johann Finkbeiner and Philipine Kreyss. She died in 1941 in Syracuse, New York.

     Lois Mary Cole was born on 1 November 1893. She married Raymond Joseph Bankert, son of Anton Bankert and Helen M. Hamberger, in 1919 in Utica, Oneida Co., New York. She died in March 1974 in Utica, Oneida Co., New York, at age 80.¹
