Religion/Church: an Alexander Phelps is found on p. 22 of the Manual of the First Church of Christ, Simsbury, Conn., a member, no date. Other Phelps, Elizabeth, Noah A., David, Asenath. (CT State Lib.).
Military Service: French & Indian War; American Revolution:
Alexander Phelps served in the F & I Wars for a total of about 2 ½ years in the campaigns of '58, '58 '61 '62. His brother Abner is found on the same list for '59, and in 1861 Alexander served with brothers Azariah and Shadrach.
In 1776 he is in the AR serving with "Marting" Winchell, either his X father- or brother-in-law. The last record I have of him is in 1780 when the rolls show Alexander Phelps, of Simsbury, Jul 1 - Dec 2 in the 5'th Connecticut Regiment, Col. Philip Bradley.
