     John Searle was born circa 1610 in England. He was the son of (__?__) Searle. He married Sarah Baldwin, daughter of Richard Baldwin and Isabel Harding(?), on 19 March 1638/39 in Springfield, Mass..¹ He died on 11 August 1641 in Springfield, Mass..

     Nathaniel Edwards was born on 21 October 1685 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., Mass.. He was the son of Samuel Edwards and Sarah Boykin. He married, at age 33, Hannah French, age 22, daughter of Jonathan French and Sarah Warner, on 9 March 1719 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., Mass.. He died on 26 August 1724 in Easthampton, Hampshire Co., Mass., at age 38, ambushed and killed by Indians.
     
Relationship: Uncle.

     On August 26, 1724, on the return trip from gathering flax in Pomeroy's Meadow, Nathaniel fell behind the other men while fording the brook this side of Ocran Clapps house a few rods south of the home of Samuel Phelps. Nathaniel was attacked by hiding Indians and fatally wounded, he ran about 20 rods and fell dead. The savages took his scalp and gun. The following day, a number of Indians were discovered in the vicinity of Westfield. In the pursuit, Noah Ashley shot and killed one Indian who was carrying Nathaniels gun. He was paid £100 for the scalp of the Indian. A few days later, Samuel Jr., brother of Nathaniel, was in a party putting hay up at Baker's Meadow when they were ambushed, but escaped unharmed.

     Samuel Gillett was baptized on 22 January 1643 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn.. He was the son of Jonathan Gillett and Mary Dolbaire. He married, at age 25, Hannah Dickinson, age 19 on 23 September 1668 in Hadley, Hampshire Co., Mass.. He died on 19 May 1676 in Turner Falls, Mass., at age 33 killed by Indians in the Turner Falls Fight.

     Joseph Gillett was baptized on 25 July 1641 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn.. He was the son of Jonathan Gillett and Mary Dolbaire. He married Elizabeth Hawkes, daughter of John Hawkes and Elizabeth (__?__), circa 1663 probably in Hadley, Hampshire Co., Mass.. He was killed by Indians in the massacre at Deerfield on 18 September 1675 in Deerfield, Franklin Co., Mass., at age 34.

Military Service: King Philip's War, a soldier with Capt. Lathrop.

     Deborah Holcomb was born circa 1784. She was the daughter of Daniel Holcomb and Hannah Gillett.

     John Dibble was born circa 1615. He was the son of Robert Dibble. He married Sarah (__?__). He died in September 1646 in Stamford, Conn..¹

     Abraham Dibble was born circa 1625. He was the son of Robert Dibble. He married Lydia Teffe, daughter of William Teffe. He died on 31 December 1690 in Suffield, Hartford Co., Conn..

     Frances Cranston was born in Conn.. She married (2) Samuel Dibble, age 59, son of Thomas Dibble and Miriam (__?__), on 25 March 1703; , of Guilford.¹

     William Allen was born on 12 March 1668 in Ipswich, Essex Co., Mass.. He was the son of Edward Allen and Sarah Kimball. He married, at age 24, Joanna Dibble, age 20, daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett, on 29 December 1692 in Suffield, Hartford Co., Conn.. He died on 15 November 1711 at age 43.

     Mindwell Dibble was born on 17 February 1680/81 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn.. She was the daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett. She married, at age 21, Thomas Barnes , of East Hampton, Long Island, son of William Barnes and Elizabeth (__?__), on 18 March 1701/2. She died after 1716 probably in East Hampton, Long Island, New York.

     Thomas Barnes was born between 1665 and 1668. He was the son of William Barnes and Elizabeth (__?__). He married Mindwell Dibble, age 21, daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett, on 18 March 1701/2; , of East Hampton, Long Island. He died after 1717.

     Thankful Dibble was born on 19 June 1685 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn.. She was the daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett. She married, at age 20, Isaac Bronson, son of Jacob Bronson and Mary Andrews, on 30 January 1705/6 in Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Conn., (possibly later divorced). She and Isaac Bronson were divorced before 1719. She married, at age 34, John Towsley, age 24, son of Michael Towsley and Mary Hussey, on 3 July 1719 in Suffield, Hartford Co., Conn.. She died on 11 February 1735/36 in Suffield, Hartford Co., Conn., at age 50.
     

Thankful had an illegitimate daughter, Abiah, with her future second husband on 6 March 1714/15.

     Isaac Bronson was the son of Jacob Bronson and Mary Andrews. He married Thankful Dibble, age 20, daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett, on 30 January 1705/6 in Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Conn.; (possibly later divorced). He and Thankful Dibble were divorced before 1719. He died in South Carolina.

     Patience Dibble was born in 1687 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn.. She was the daughter of Samuel Dibble and Hepzibah Bartlett.

     Phillury Randall was the daughter of Philip Randall and Joan (__?__). She married George Phelps circa 1637.^1,2 She died on 29 April 1648 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn..²

     Capt. Isaac Phelps was born on 20 August 1638 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn..¹ He was the son of George Phelps and Phillury Randall. He married, at age 24, Ann Gaylord, age 17, daughter of William Gaylord Jr. and Ann Porter, on 11 March 1662/63 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn..^2,1 He died on 2 June 1725 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass., at age 86.³ He was buried in 1725 in Old Westfield cemetery (stone).

     Born in Windsor, Isaac Phelps married there Ann Gaylord. In 1668 he applied for renewal of a grant of land in nearby Westfield Massachusetts and within a few years moved his family to the new town. In 1675 New England suffered from the outbreak of King Philip's War. Westfield was in a particularly vulnerable position and the young family must have suffered much apprehension in these times.
     As one of the early founders, Isaac was very active in the affairs of Westfield. He served as the town clerk for many years and many of the early records of Westfield are in his hand. He served as a Deacon in the Westfield Church and in 1679/80 Ann, "wife of brother Phelps" is on a list of members. Among some of the offices he held in Westfield were assessor, surveyor, town treasurer, and school master. On April 9 1702, at the age of 64, it is recorded "Isaac Phelps agrees with the selectmen to keep school for one year as a scool master for the Town, and to teach to write and read such children as shall be sent to scool . . and for his satisfaction is to have twenty pounds, at or before the year expires." His services must have been considered valuable as in 1724, when 86 years old, he was chosen town treasurer.

     Ann Gaylord was born on 24 April 1645 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn..¹ She was the daughter of William Gaylord Jr. and Ann Porter. She married, at age 17, Capt. Isaac Phelps, age 24, son of George Phelps and Phillury Randall, on 11 March 1662/63 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn..^2,3 She died on 27 September 1690 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass., at age 45.⁴

     daughter Phelps was born on 19 March 1668/69 in Windsor, Hartford Co., Conn., , died young. She was the daughter of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord.

     Capt. John Phelps was born on 27 December 1672 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass.. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He was baptized on 29 June 1673. He married, at age 39, Thankful Hitchcock, age 25, daughter of Luke Hitchcock and Sarah Burt, on 24 January 1711/12. He died on 9 September 1741 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass., at age 68.

     Hezekiah Phelps was born on 9 July 1677 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass.. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He married Dorothy (__?__). He died in 1763 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., Conn..

     Josiah Phelps was born on 28 November 1679 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass.. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He married, at age 23, Elizabeth Taylor on 3 February 1702/3 in Colebrook, Litchfield Co., Conn.. He died in November 1760 in Great Barrington, Mass., at age 71.

     Daniel Phelps was born on 14 October 1681. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He died on 8 October 1690 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass., at age 8.

     Noah Phelps was born on 14 October 1684 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass.. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He died on 21 September 1731 in Housatonic, Berkshire Co., Mass., at age 46 unmarried.

     Ebenezer Phelps was born on 6 June 1687 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass.. He was the son of Capt. Isaac Phelps and Ann Gaylord. He married Susanna Burbank, daughter of John Burbank and Mehitable (widow) Saunders, in 1726 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Mass..¹ He died on 2 March 1770 at age 82.
